By way of introduction my name is Dennis Fadden
I am a native of Syracuse NY living in Denver Co.
For a brief time back in the late 60’s I was a member of the Syracuse Brigadiers.
I was in the Color Guard.
I actually started my Drum Corp experience as a member of the Nedrow Volunteer Fire Dept’s Junior Drum & Bugle Corp.
I played lead soprano horn. I did not have any clue how to play when I joined.
But I had a really great teacher by the name of Charlie Ragonese; yes Charlie taught me how to play the bugle. I was about 14, 15 years old.
Drum Corp was the best thing that happened to me. It keep me off the streets and gave me something that I treasure to this day at the age of 62.
After I got good enough I auditioned and won a spot playing French Horn for the Syracuse Junior Brigadiers.
I played with the Juniors for one season and then went to the Sr Brigadiers with the color guard.
As a kid I would love to watch rehearsals on the weekends at the PLAV.
I don’t know why but something told me to look on You Tube and search Syracuse Brigadiers.
Much to my surprise I found them, I found some great stuff.
I guess I was feeling nostalgic.
I just wanted to let you know how glad I am that you guys are back and competing.
The Brig’s always had such a unique sound.
And yes, I still love Black Saddle, always will.
I wish I could do it all over again.
Best Of Luck
Dennis Fadden
