Derrick Bertrand
 

 Derrick Bertrand - Brass Technician. Derrick marched Soprano with various junior corps, starting in 1980, before aging out in 1990 with the Crossmen. His senior marching experience includes two years with the Kingston Grenadiers (2001 & 2002) and two years with the Syracuse Brigadiers (2003 & 2005). He has been a brass instructor with the Crossmen, as well as the Emerald Knights, The Oshawa Rebels, the Kiwanis Kavaliers and the Kingston Grenadiers. Derrick was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and studied music at The Claude Watson School of the Performing Arts. He has also played lead trumpet in productions of West Side Story and Man of La Mancha, as well as various jazz ensembles. He now lives in Kingston, Ontario with his beautiful wife, Barb (Brigadier Mellophone), and their kids Madison, Emily and Ethan. 2006 is Derrick’s third season with the Brigadier organization and first as a staff member.
