Color Guard Staff Biographies

Ryan Bronner

Ryan is returning as one of three caption heads for The Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps color guard in 2008. He was on the color guard staff for the 2005 season and served as the caption head in 2006 and 2007. He has been working with several color guard programs around the area since the 2000 fall season.

Past instructing and performance credits include:

  • Cicero-North Syracuse Winter Guard and Marching Band (07-present)
  • Phoenix High School Marching Band (02-present)
  • Phoenix High School Winter Guard (03-07)
  • The Brigadiers Winter Guard (99-00 as a performer, 05-present as an instructor)
  • The Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, OH (04, color guard tech)
  • New Hartford Marching Band and Winter Guard (00-02)
  • Laurens Winter Guard (01-02)
  • The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from Rosemont, IL (00-03 as a performer and was the color guard sergeant in 03)
  • The Patriots Winter Guard (01 as a performer)

Outside of the marching activity, Ryan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English concentrating in literature and has also received a Master's degree in Secondary English Education, both from Le Moyne College. Ryan is now an eighth grade English and English 12/Critical Writing teacher at Gregory B. Jarvis High School in Mohawk, NY and looking to continue his education sometime in the near future. He currently resides in Mohawk, NY and Syracuse, NY.

Chris Caraccilo

Chris returns full time to The Brigadiers as a third of the Color Guard Caption Head/Design Team for the 2008 Season. Chris was previously with The Brigadiers from 1997-2003 as Guard Caption Head (DCA Best Guard 2000-2002 and DCA Champions 5 times), and has been a consultant for the Corps the past two years. He is thrilled to return to the corps with this exciting show in a more direct capacity.

Chris has been involved with the pageantry arts as a color guard designer and consultant for the past 15 years. Groups in upstate New York with which he has worked include:

  • Laurens Winter Guard 2004-2007
  • Empire IW Winter Guard 2005
  • Naples HS Winter Guard 2001-2004
  • Brigadiers Winter Guard 1999-2000
  • Cicero-North Syracuse HS Winter Guard 1998
  • Trumansburg HS Winter Guard 1992-1997
  • West Genesee HS Marching Band 1995-1998

Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University and a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from the NYS College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse.

Chris lives in Rochester, NY where he is a Landscape Architect and the Cultural Resources Coordinator for Region 4 of the NYS Dept of Transportation.

Lisa Cullen

2008 will be Lisa's 14th year as a Brigadier and her 2nd as a member of the Color Guard staff. She joined the Color Guard in 1995 at the age of 13 and continued as a performer through 2004 and then again in 2006. Lisa was a member of the By-Laws Committee in 2005 and in 2007, she joined the Color Guard staff full-time.

Lisa has worked with or been a member of a number of groups throughout New York including East Syracuse-Minoa, Patriots Percussion Ensemble, The Brigadiers Winter Guard, New Hartford High School, Liverpool High School and The Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps.

Lisa received her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in English from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY in 2004 where she also studied Modern and Jazz Dance.

Lisa currently lives in Minoa, New York, with her husband Paul and their daughter, Madison.
