FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Brigadiers to Perform at Community Wide Dialogue's "Duck Race" to End Racism
Central Square, NY (June 6, 2007) -
The Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps is pleased to announce that the corps has been
invited to perform at one of the premier community events in the Syracuse area –
the Community Wide Dialogue's "Duck Race" to End Racism – on Saturday, June 9, 2007.
The Brigs will present portions of their 2007 show, "Images in Time," as the opening
entertainment act of the event. The corps will begin its performance at 11:30 a.m. at
the Syracuse Inner Harbor.
The "Duck Race" is an annual event hosted by the Community Wide Dialogue to End Racism,
the longest-running dialogue program on ending racism in the United States. The race
is held at the Syracuse Inner Harbor, where community members and businesses can sponsor
ducks (rubber, of course!) to race in heats down the Onondaga Creek. Corporate sponsors
of the event include M&T Bank, Syracuse University, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Byrne
Dairy, The Rosamond Gifford Charitable Corporation, Time Warner Cable-Syracuse Division,
and DestiNY USA Foundation, among many others. The Brigs are honored to be chosen to
perform at this prestigious and meaningful event.

With roots dating to 1938, The Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps was reorganized in 1991
after a nineteen-year absence from competition. The Brigadiers are 5-time Drum Corps Associates
World Champions, winning titles in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002, and are the only drum and
bugle corps to ever win four consecutive DCA titles.
