The Brigadiers' "Images in Time"
Central Square, NY (June 11, 2007) -
In anticipation of the first show of the 2007 DCA competitive season, we thought we'd
share with you some of The Brigadiers' actual "images in time." Over the next week, we
will feature one reflection each day of the Brigs' past, concluding on Friday with a
new "image" for 2007, just in time for the premier of our "Images in Time" program!
We hope you enjoy these images as much as every Brigadier through the years has enjoyed
creating these great memories!
The first in our series comes courtesy of NanciD, a well-known Internet poster, blogger,
and drum corps historian, who was kind enough to recently feature the Brigs in her drum
corps history blog, Historical Drum Corps Publications.
In this photo, originally published in the November 11, 1964 Drum Corps News, the Syracuse
Brigadiers are shown playing taps at the memorial to President John F. Kennedy in Dallas,
Texas, exactly ten months after the President had been shot.
The Brigadiers will premier their 2007 "Images in Time" program this Saturday, June 16,
at the "Cabs Beach Party" at the Wildwood Convention Center in Wildwood, New Jersey.
The show starts at 6:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!
With roots dating to 1938, The Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps was reorganized in 1991
after a nineteen-year absence from competition. The Brigadiers are 5-time Drum Corps Associates
World Champions, winning titles in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002, and are the only drum and
bugle corps to ever win four consecutive DCA titles.
We are our History.
We are our Future.
