FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Brigadiers Debut in St. Patrick's Day Parade
Syracuse, NY (March 20, 2007) - It was colder than usual for the annual St. Patrick's Day
parade in Syracuse on Saturday, March 17, but the Brigadiers were ready for it. Dressed in red
hooded sweatshirts adorned with a new Brigadiers logo, the corps debuted in its first performance
of the 2007 season, closing out the parade in what has become the corps' customary position.
The corps paraded down Salina Street in downtown Syracuse to its newly-adopted parade tune,
"Sparkling Diamonds," a hit from the 2006 field production. At the conclusion of the parade route,
the corps performed two pieces from its upcoming 2007 production, "Spanish Fantasy" and "First
Time Ever I Saw His Face," featuring soloist Genevieve Danis, reprising her role as baritone soloist
from the corps' 2003 performance of the tune, and soprano soloist Evan Kleve. The performance was
featured that day, and again later that evening, in a full replay of the parade on NewsChannel 9
in Syracuse, WSYR-TV.
The corps will host its next rehearsal camp March 31-April 1 at Central Square Middle School in
Central Square, New York. The corps still has openings and invites interested musicians and
colorguard to contact Corps Director Rick Martin at
richardmartin@brigadiers.com or Recruiting
Director Jason Snow at jasonsnow@brigadiers.com.

With roots dating to 1938, the Syracuse Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps was reorganized in 1991
after a nineteen-year absence from competition. The Brigadiers are 5-time Drum Corps Associates
World Champions, winning titles in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002, and are the only drum and
bugle corps to ever win four consecutive DCA titles.
