FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Brigadiers See Continued Improvement in Central Square
Central Square, NY (July 16, 2007) -
The Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps enjoyed a successful outing Saturday night at the first of two home
shows scheduled in the Syracuse area for the 2007 DCA season. A smaller than usual crowd - due in large
part to the ever-present rain showers that moved into the region earlier in the evening - crowded under
the awnings of the Paul V. Moore Stadium in Central Square. Despite the less-than-desirable weather
conditions, the crowd was undaunted in its enthusiasm and appreciation for the four competing corps
and the Brigs' special guests, the Mighty St. Joe's Alumni Corps, who performed in exhibition and
entertained the audience as only St. Joe's can.
After a productive day cleaning many of the recent programmatic changes recently incorporated into
the corps' steadily improving show, the Brigs finished the night in second place, not far behind the
first-place Empire Statesman. The Brigs dramatically improved their score from their previous outing
in Rochester, and were further rewarded for their efforts by earning honors for High Visual, High
Color Guard, and the A.J. Wright Award for Most Entertaining corps of the evening. Rounding out the
competitive corps were the Rochester Crusaders in third place and Class A competitor, the Dansville
White Sabers, in fourth.
The Brigs next travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Saturday, July 21, to compete in the "Cavalcade
of Champions" at Christy Mathewson Stadium on the campus of Bucknell University. The show starts
at 7:00 p.m. For more information, go to http://www.dcacorps.org/.
The Brigs will host the "Pageant of Drums" on August 18 at Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse.
Tickets are currently available and can be ordered by phone or mail. For ticket information,

With roots dating to 1938, The Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps was reorganized in 1991
after a nineteen-year absence from competition. The Brigadiers are 5-time Drum Corps Associates
World Champions, winning titles in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002, and are the only drum and
bugle corps to ever win four consecutive DCA titles.
